In 1998 It all began in Jean's Grandmother's flower garden in Burnt Hills, NY. Catnip was over running her Grandmother's beautiful flowers. At one point Jean's Grandmother started to weed out the catnip from her flowers.

When all of a sudden Jean's cat Weasel popped out of a catnip plant with a big smile on his face! Weasel was always in the catnip in Grandma's Garden. When they both saw how much enjoyment furry Weasel got out of the catnip, Grandma and Jean came up with a plan...

Jean decided to take the catnip and make cat toys for Weasel. She learned to sew from her Sister n Law Susan and soon Weasel became the test kitty for American Catnip's products! The toys soon caught on with family, friends, craft shows, and cats alike. And today the dream lives on in memory of Grandma Jean & Weasel.
